- Wedding: December 2011
I’m trying to decide how long to hire our photographer. We’re getting married in downtown Portland, OR from 6:30-10:30. It will be a rooftop wedding in the summer. Our photographer bills by the hour, and I’m wondering if it would be a good idea to have them stay until 11:30 pm just so we can get some fun couples pictures downtown in the dark (bright signs/unique lighting opportunities) after the party is over? Or do you think we’d look/feel too burned out? I’m thinking of having them start at 4:30 to get as much done prior to the ceremony as possible. So the question is have them leave at like 8:30 or 11:30? There won’t be much happening during the reception, it will be a small wedding with only 50 guests, more like a fancy dinner party.
Maybe it would be better to have the photographer just stay till like 8:30, and then book a trash the dress session another day? What do you think?? Anybody heard of couples doing portraits the night of the wedding after the party is over?
