Just wondering what everyone has paid for photography and what has been included in your package? I know it will vary by area but just trying to get a general sense of what’s “normal”. My contract is already signed! Just curious as we only ever met with one and never got other prices.

We paid $1000 for 2 photographers for 6 hours, all rights to our photos, and we recieved about 600 photos, plus a black & white copy of each photo. I love our pictures and our photographers were awesome to work with.

sarahparkview : just under $5k for 10 hours, 2 shooters, print rights, and a thumb drive with all the pics (which are also available via download). i dont remember how many pics my sister got (we’re using the same photog) but it was a LOT. from our 2 hour engagment session, we had something like 300ish pics.
ETA: the pricing i quoted is the “travel package” pricing for my photog, so it includes 2 nights in a hotel as well

We splurged on our photographer, as it was really important to us and I LOVE ours and her work, but you can get a really good photographer with all the above included for about $2000-2500 here.

As a wedding photographer, I can tell you that industry standards is around $3,000-$3500 for a typical 8 hour coverage w/ two photographers. That number will vary a little, up or down, depending on the area and the package…..but that’s usually a good starting point to go by.
I think I paid around $4200, but as a wedding photographer myself I opted out of packages with albums and such because obviously I could order all that stuff myself at cost, which my photographer totally was in agreement on.

PA bride here: I booked when she was running a contest and won! I’m getting A HUGE STEAL!!!! Her sticker price is $1200 for 2 photographers, 8 hours of coverage, a minimum of 1000 photos, all rights, a photo album, and a thumb drive with all photos (retouched and raw)… and I’m paying half of that.

We paid $4800 for a 10 hour + if needed (basically they won’t leave before the timeline is finished or if something amazing is happening). This included two shooters, $150 print credit, 600 edited images, and an engagement session, which we were allowed to reschedule for post wedding and make it a family session with our kids (we received 65 edited images).
This is pretty pricy for our area, but he is really good, and Darling Husband was really good friends with him in high school, and wanted to support his business. It was worth every penny. My wedding was an absolute shit show, but you would never know it from looking at the photos. They did such a great job of capturing the best moments… And at my request he edited out my back fat and slimmed my arms 🙂

Wow! Thanks everyone! Seems like these are all over the place! We’re paying $1k for 3 hours, 1 photographer, rights to everything on a USB. His packages were 6 hrs, full day, or hourly, and for our event 3 hours was the way to go.
The consistently rated/voted best wedding photographer in my city is someone I once went on a TERRIBLE date with, and who my partner once had to rescue a friend from her terrible date with. So it was easy to rule him out!
So far I’m happy with his communication and vision for the day. It’s our single biggest expense so definitely something I wanted to compare notes on.
Thanks for all the info!

We got married 3 weeks ago and paid $2000 for 2 shooters, 10 hours, all 850 photos returned to us. Most of them edited. And we got a free engagement shoot.
She was the cheapest I could find cos we were on a budget and she produced the most stunning photos. My recap was posted earlier today.

I’m in LA. I’m paying $3800 for two photographers for 8 hours. The photographer is a little bit pricier so I opted out of the extras like engagement shoots and albums.
In my area, photographers are anywhere from $2500 to $5000. But I think the average pro is about $3500.
