Hi bees! I had an idea about photography and I wanted some input/opinions. We have our photogs for 8 hours. My ceremony is at 10 and the reception ends at 3. I want my photogs there at 8 for pics of me getting into my dress and so we can do all the girls’ pics beforehand. (And the guys in a separate area.) We’re going to do family and group formals between the ceremony and reception. That leaves us with an extra hour and I was thinking of changing into going-away outfits and getting a few more photos with just me and Fiance after the wedding. We have ZERO pics of us together so I just kind of want to seize the chance to have some more nice pro pics of us. Does that sound realistic/doable? I’m worried it might come off as attention-whorish or that we’ll be too tired when the time comes to actually go through with it. What are your thoughts?

Have you considered an engagement shoot for just pics of the 2 of you?

@HeyKaraoke: I think you will be worn out and probably not feel like doing a portrait session on top of the wedding. But if you want to try, I don’t see anything wrong with it. If it were me, I’d stay in my wedding outfit and get some really fun, creative shots of that. Especially since you likely won’t ever be wearing them again. Then, later down the line, you could hire a different photographer to do casual clothes photos at another location, when you’d be fresh and not tired.

I think you will be exhausted by this time and keeping up your spirits enough to get quality pics will be difficult.
Have you thought of doing a first look?
Have you asked your photographer for a timeline he has used with previous couples? Maybe this could help you to find your extra hour…maybe you are not allowing yourself enough time somewhere else?
Also, wedding don’t always go smoothly – from the first event of getting ready – up until the final dances – something is bound to go over on time limit. Having an extra hour will help you to make sure he isn;t leaving before the fun is over.
