- Wedding: April 2018
I’m so excited to finally be able to share these photos. We hosted our wedding at a large Air BNB in the mountains with about 30 people in attendance including the wedding party. I had started out planning a wedding for 150 people, and I switched gears about 3 1/2 – 4 months before the wedding. My wedding was a total fly by the seat of your pants wedding, but it was a lot of fun. I did all of the planning myself, so there were a few things that slipped through the cracks. I think the think that I regret the most was not taking photos with my bouquet. That was a huge priority of mine, but when the photog asked me if I wanted those photos, I said no. I was just in a totally different headspace. I had some pretty stressful moments before the ceremony, and then once the wedding actually started, I forgot about everything. In hindsight, I should have provided a list to my photographer and given her a few vetos. There were also a few decoration and cake mishaps, and my hair was kind of meh. I didn’t do a trial and the stylist didn’t do a very good job on the updo, so I asked her to take it out. I then realized that I did want something to decorate my hair with, so one of my bridesmaids threw some baby’s breath in there and we called it a day. But all in all it was a wonderful day.
Opting for the smaller wedding was the best decision we made with regards to planning the wedding. We got to do everything our way and it minimized my planning stress. We spent the same amount of money for two nights at the huge house, and we got to spend the whole weekend with our closest friends and family.
(I spent forever making these confetti cones. I couldn’t find scrapbook paper, so I handpainted the cardstock, and then the dried flower petals didn’t come on time. My photographer, who is also my sister’s best friend, and my sis and Brother-In-Law went and bought discount flowers the morning of and made fresh flower confetti :))
