Lalavla:  Absolutely!  The same color (guava) from David’s looked completely different between the satin and chiffon.  Luckily, I preferred the chiffon shade b/c that’s what I wanted to dress them in anyway!

rel318:  To that ponit, you have to see things in person, for sure.  Don’t settle for a swatch or a picture online.  Unfortunately, the color you want isn’t always available in the style/size/fabric you’re looking for.  Good luck, it’s a tricky process!!

rel318:  I totally agree with others that orange can be a very hard colour to pull off. I LOVE the suggested Pinterest look from

rel318:  good luck! i will say that I agree with PP – of all the pictures posted, my eye is automatically drawn to the bright orange dresses rather than the bride.

rel318:  We chose a darker red-orange color from David’s bridal called “poppy”. I LOVED how they turned out!

rel318:  Ugh I know me too!

When I decided I wanted blue I actually sent a text to my Maid/Matron of Honor when she asked, along the lines of “Think cobalt, a bright royal blue, but not too purple cause royal blue tends to lean more purple” I think the follow up text was I can’t believe I’m feeling this crazy over a color!

Then I originally thought I wanted all the girls to be able to pick from a stlye of dresses with the same fabric but that somehow is proving harder than I thought! So I think I’m going to go with DB Horizon in 1 style and let them dress it up and acessorize it however they like 🙂

Gah I just had a look through my old files, I did have a picture of a Bridesmaid in Orange (they were all in tropical colours as opposed to all in Orange) the dress was strapless, sweetheart neckline and floor length. The material was chiffon. Against the other bright colours it did look bright but that was the whole theme. Maybe if there are other colours there to balance it out its not so bad? Like if it’s Autumn colours you could have (for example) one in ivory, one in brown and one in orange. Or like someone else said, varying different shades:

or again as someone else said, them in a lighter, more peachy shade:

The only other thing you could do is use it as an accent. So have (for example) the Bridesmaids in Ivory and then have orange sash’s and orange shoes. If you wanted you could have them in like, ivory coloured 50’s style dresses with orange petticoats.

sorry I could only find a picture of a bride in that colour combination, but I mean this kinda style:

(ps sorry if the pics are massive idk how to resize them)
