Digital. I LOVE to read, and physical books just take up so much room. I used to need umpteen bookshelves to display them all. And when would I practically need to access them like that? I much prefer being able to carry a thin Kindle device in my purse, rather than a bulky book.

That said, certain books are better in print for note-taking, etc.

I used to read all the time, but I just don’t want to “sit” for hours and read anymore. I have way too many active things I have to get done. Also, reading a print book puts me to sleep. Audible just enables me to enjoy my books, but stay active.

I do collect comic books, though… I love the art.

Im a digital book. Cheaper and instant.

Darling Husband is a physical book fan. He says digital doesn’t replace the turning of pages which he finds relaxing.

I love to read and voted I use both formats.  I still love physical books, too, but I use my e-reader every day.  Especially at night, I’m a night owl, so when my husband is sleeping I love the built in light in the screen to read by.  For cooking I enjoy using my old Julia Child real books, there’s nothing like it.  Seems cozier.  Also, I saw above someone mentioned audio books, those are great while driving.

Either digital or physical books are fine by me. I love my Kindle because I can carry so many books with me at once and it’s compact/light to carry around. It’s especially great when I’m traveling. And I love it’s dictionary feature so I can look up any words I don’t know just by clicking on them. I can also read on my Kindle at night without having a light on which my husband really likes. It’s also much cheaper to buy e-books rather than regular books. It’s easy for me to make notes as I don’t have to try to squeeze them into the margins and I can highlight and unhighlight things as I want. I can borrow books from the library without having to actually go to the library or ever worry about late fees. There are so, so many benefits that come with e-readers.

I do have plenty of print books as well though. Any books for school I always prefer to be physical books. And I like the aesthetic of having books fill the shelves of my home. When we have kids I think I will prefer to read physical books with them. Basically I just like having both options available to me.

    Another for Audio.

I have an hour commute each way, audiobooks are perfect for me. Otherwise, I do prefer a physical book, I often like to flip back and forth and it’s hard to do that with a digital book. I do have a kindle though and I like that it saves space.

ktsteimel :  I use Audible. It’s connected to Amazon. It’s a montly service where you pay a certain price per month and you get 1 credit each month for a book. You can buy books and add them to your account and then download them using the app on your phone.

Depends on the read and/or the selection of the book. I found myself buying really cheap books via my Kindle but for books that were at full purchase or lengthy I purchase the actual book because I like to make notes, highlight, circle, etc. so definitely need a paperback for that. At the moment I am reading “Marriage on the Rock” by Jimmy Evans and that’s a must paperback.

I’m buying more kindle books than real books these days but if its a really good author or part of a collection that I already own then I have to buy paper!

    I’m always reading!

    digital (Kindle paperwhite) because:

    • it’s so portable
    • I can use my iphone as a backup if my kindle isn’t with me
    • I can read in the dark
    • I can read hands-free or laying down on my side — something that was way more tricky with real books
