number 2 seems much easier on the logistics and headache.  but if you prefer the singer, then it’s not that much more of a bother in planning.

If you’ve heard the quartet before and love them, I’d go with them instead of the piano/singers. I just think it’s more classic.

Then again, I’ve seen videos of weddings with string quartets who weren’t all precisely in tune, and it sounded terrible. With a piano it’s less likely. Just something to think about…

it sounds like option 2 is much easier, but ultimately just depends on your preference. peresonally i am a piano fan so i am doing the piano route.

String quartets are almost a perfect ensemble for weddings.  They sound good in just about any environment, it’s classy, and they sound great!
