So this past weekend was our anniversary weekend. We spent 4 days in OuterBanks (and we don’t live in NC). His family, my family, and he himself all made it seem like this would be the weekend that we officially become engaged. Welp, that didn’t happen.
Thats okay, though. The whole weekend I kept telling myself to not get my hopes up, and I feel like I did a pretty good job with that. We still had a great weekend together at the beach, sound, and flying stunt kites on the sand dunes! We also came back with some killer tans.
Now he keeps talking about having a really good idea but won’t tell me what it is.
This boy, sheesh. Good thing I love him!
EDIT: And when I call him boy, I mean he is 29 🙂

I love this post! I’ve had one too many getaways and special evenings with no ring! This made me laugh. I’m convinced he’s going to ask while we’re sitting in a drive-thru on a Tuesday night.
Glad you enjoyed your trip with your guy! (And your nails look wonderful!)

@LeonardLady: haha! This is awesome! You had MY hopes up there for a few seconds… Well done on enjoying a lovely weekend away with your man anyway!

Hahaha…damn you. I was excited there for a second.

That happened to me last summer. He proposed the next weekend.

My anniversary is next weekend, and my ring is hiding in our house somewhere, if the man knows what’s good for him I better have it on my finger next weekend haha.
I’m pondering finding it and proposing to myself so I can enjoy the sparkle. 🙂

I’m so glad you posted this! It gives me hope I can be as positive as you when I come back from Florida in 2 months with no ring! We are going to look at rings on Saturday, but I don’t expect him to pick one out, pay for it, and it be ready in only 2 months, that’s just unrealistic. We have tickets for an event at the lighthouse where we are going, you go up to the top and watch the sunset then the moonrise and they serve champagne, over looking the beautiful water… uhh perfect proposal moment I could only dream of and I have to keep telling myself it isn’t going to happen.

Haha you had me going there! I’m sure when he does decide to propose it will be perfect though 🙂

Yep. I went on a nice trip in Sept and I thought I’d come back with a ring. I got it in January.

LOL is this the waiting bee cycle of violence? To cope with boyfriends raising false hopes, waiting ladies will now turn it around and troll the rest of the bee with suspenseful threads?
I kid, I kid! Sounds like a really fun vacation 🙂

@MrsTea: My guy knows I don’t want any major fuss made over it, that I don’t want a bunch of people watching, but I also know he “wants to do it right” so he will try something a little more than a drive-thru 🙂 haha. And thanks about the nails, I’ve never been a girlygirl, but I’m getting really into the shellac!
@HopefulSim: @SamanthaMarie89: @Dogsbody92: @4cube: Haha, yep! I was hoping I’d catch some of you off guard 🙂 I was trying to be mischevious
@iiiEllie: @ceemarie7: Yay, good luck, ladies! I hope that all 3 of us have rings on our fingers soon! 😀 Remember to keep cool and don’t get your hopes up too high, just in case! It’s going to be wonderful once it happens
@ampapa: Lucky that it happened so quickly after, I bet you were SO ready!
@Bubbles42: Oh goodness, I really hope I don’t have to wait that long, but hey, if thats what it takes to marry my man, so be it! 🙂

HA HA…that’s pretty much what my bare hand looks like! I put some glitter nail polish on just so that I’d have something sparkly to look at while I wait:S

@LeonardLady: Yes, I was and actually picked a fight on the way home in the car. Then Tuesday at work (we work together) I had a horrible day, left crying to walk to the car, and he handed me a typed note telling me what I needed to pack for the upcoming weekend. The surprise he is planning will totally be worth it! I promise!

- Wedding: September 2013 - Sodo Park
I used to look for a ring-szied box shape in Sparky’s pocket every fancy dinner/vacation we took. It drove me crazy!
Glad you had a good weekend!

HA HA love the fact you included a photo! Glad to see you are keeping positive. Seems like he wasted a good opportunity what with all your loved ones being there, but… fingers crossed that finger isn’t bare for much longer.
