I’m busy narrowing down my search and posting here asking for more pics! Think I want a smallish round diamond, my budget wants me to go closer to 0.2-0.5ct, but I might inch up a little higher maybe 0.6-0.8 if I can afford it and decide I want a bit bigger.
I think I want a plain white gold band, thin and tapered where it meets the center stone, and a low profile 6-prong setting. I’m around a size 5-5.5, tried on some rings at the store yesterday and the 0.2ct was shockingly not too small for me, I might even prefer it that small.
Trying things on in the store and browsing pictures online, I’m realizing that I love a traditional, classic, simple and subtle look.
Please post your pics with the details of your ring and your ring size! Diamond carat size, band size, any terminology related to your setting or anything. I’m learning and having this info while looking at pics is SO HELPFUL!

Here’s my .62 round brilliant solitaire! I have a size four finger for reference. It’s from Tiffany, so it has the low set six prong setting. It’s a 2mm band, knife edge. I also love a simple traditional look.

Here’s my 0.71ct, 6 prong, 3mm comfort fit solitaire.

Your ring looks a lot like mine!
I’m one of those weirdos who doesn’t actually know the specs haha but I do know it’s pretty AF and that he went for clarity. Apparently mine is one grade below the highest for clarity?

Even though he hasn’t officially proposed this is mine. 0.55 ct g colour white gold 6 prongs. Didn’t think I would want something so simple but I just fell in love with it! Please share yours when you decide!!

My ring is 0.7ct and is set in platinum. I’ve always loved the classic look of anround solitaire, but mine has 5 prongs which makes it feel a little special. My finger is a size 4 🙂

Here’s my mystery sized (.5 tops) solitaire in yellow gold and platinum, I think it’s an illusion or bezel set. Sorry for the vagueness, she’s an heirloom piece.

Here is my round solitaire 🙂 It’s 4 prongs, 0.33c and G color. The band is 2mm white gold, tapering in a bit at the centre. My ring is a size 4

Mine is a 0.58 carat Tiffany setting, size 4.5.

This is a 0.25 carat sokitaire, my finger is a size 4.5.
Your ring is gorgeous! I would have guessed a larger carat weight, it looks so good on your hand!

This is my 1.01-carat solitaire, with a 14k white gold band. A little bigger than 0.8-carat, but I tried on 0.8 and the difference was impossible to see. My finger is a size 5 like yours! This is my favorite style of ring – I love how simple yet elegant soltaires are 🙂

Here’s my .42 carat and I’m a size 6 finger. It’s a knife edge band.

I had a size 5 ring finger and my original e-ring (we’ve since added pave diamonds down each side + now size 5.5) was a 0.54ct round diamond solitaire with a trellis-style basket.

My RHR is a size 5.25 with 0.47ct, classic Tiffany 6-prong knife edge. I like wearing it more than my bigger/fancier rings, it’s just a pop of pure sparkle. Go try some on in Tiffany’s, their setting quality is top-notch! Even if you don’t buy theirs in the end, I think it’ll help you narrow down what you want too. Some things, like the weight and feel of metals, can’t be told from photos.

This was my engagement ring, 0.59ct on a white gold band.
