i know it looks kinda creepy with the smudged face, but just work with me ๐
my fi has been saying lately that he thinks i could pull off short hair, and i’m going through a serious bob-lovin’ phase (and pixies. michelle williams’ hair is killing me. but i don’t think i could go THAT short. i’d miss my hair too much!). but i could also go for bangs or some more style, or something else. give me ideas! and feel free to put up pictures ๐
this one gives you an idea of my current lenght and style (current haircut):
this one is a better idea of the texture:

I would go more with the Carrie Underwood version first. That way it won’t be so dramatic and you can eventually work up to the pixie cut. Both of which are WAY cute!!

start a little less dramatically with the carrie underwood. if you decide you love short hair, then go all the way for a bob.

I agree with what PP said, go with a longer short cut first and work your way up, if you don’t like it shorter then it won’t take as long to grow out and it won’t be as scary of a leap.
ETA: I’m one of those people who loves chopping my hair off and have done it several times so I’d say cut it if you aren’t too scared!

@SamanthaSadlier: Yeah, I would ease into it. Going from having long hair to a pixie cut might make you miss your hair!

It’s hard to say for sure without being able to see your features, but I think with your face shape you could totally pull off the Michelle Williams!
The first time I decided to be bold and chop all my hair off, I tied my hair back in a really tight ponytail and then pinned the ends of my hair all over my head into a faux short hairstyle to get an idea of how it would look on me. I’d suggest you do the same to help you decide what kind of length you would be most comfortable with.

I think your long hair is so pretty! Maybe try long bangs, like Emma Stone, but keep the length?

@SweetRose2011:i am scared! i haven’t had short hair since the 4th grade. and havent really wanted it since, either. this wedding is doing crazy things to me… and my fi’s suggestions are making it seem like a good idea. but i’m not even sure i’d look better than with long (or longer) hair. that’s where you guys come in!

@cartascartas: Okay yeah, you could totally rock the Michelle Williams ๐
But it all depends on what you’re comfortable with. I’ve chopped off super long hair into a pixie cut twice now and couldn’t be happier, but it is definitely a shock for a while when you see yourself in the mirror.
If you have any concern at all that you might regret going a lot shorter, then do as PPs suggested and go shorter gradually.
ETA: And for what it’s worth, I think you would look stunning in the Victoria Beckham as well…

will you be doing this after the wedding or before? (just asking because I did a pre-wedding chop!)

@SweetRose2011: definitively post-wedding. i don’t want to risk it! what did you do?
@Linz1231: aw, thank you! do you think i should keep it long? do you have any suggestions?
