Hey Bees! First post on here.
I went wedding dress shopping this week with my mom and dad. I wasn’t expecting to pick a dress during my first appointment, but here we are! I went in thinking I wanted a Maggie sheath dress but my boobs didn’t agree with me. This is the Martina Liana 821 in Champagne and Stone lace paired with a Justin Alexander 8873J Nude crystal beaded jacket. This was the only dress that made my dad cry. I ordered both in a size 10 with the intention to alter it down.
The skirt has horsehair layered ruffles and a dramatic train that I’ll have to bustle.
What do you guys think? Any accessory or alteration suggestions (I think my dress has sparkle covered)? I know I want to do some sort of flower crown. 😀

Oh my goodness, you look gorgeous! Usually I’m not a fan of bling but this is done in the right way. Congrats on such a breathtaking dress.

Thank you!!! I don’t wear any jewelry except my E ring (I don’t even have my ears pierced). I really surprised myself when I liked the beading and big skirt too. 😀

Beautiful!! Wow!!! Beautiful with and without the jacket! You’ll get two beautiful looks.
I love sheath dresses too, but they’re just not flattering on me because of my boobs so I may go in a different direction. Thanks for sharing!
And that look on your dad’s face is so touching.
Is the dress comfortable? I was originally drawn to sheaths because they seem comfortable.

You look amazing!!! I was also a Martina Liana bride – the quality of the dresses is superb. The alterations were easier because of the fine workmanship. Congratulations!!! 🙂

OMG Yayyyy you guys are so nice thank you! I’m trying to keep my dress secret (mostly) so this is the closest I’m going to get to sharing my excitement! To answer some questions above:
1. To me, this dress is way way more comfortable than the sheaths I tried on. The inner structure of the dress, even at this too-big size, made me feel super secure with my 32F boobs. I also feel like I can eat and drink a lot in this dress and not worry about that showing.
I was dead set against having a strapless dress until and my bridal consultant explained to me that there is way more structure and boning in a strapless dress. The sheaths I tried on were beautiful but I looked heavier in them due to the shape, and I was suddenly very conscious that if I didn’t keep my posture perfect the dress would lose its elegant lines. But I could see a lot of Bees feeling the exact opposite about sheaths and finding them more fluid and easier to move in. I guess it comes down to body type and how you feel in the dress.
2. The dress was surprisingly not that heavy. I could feel the train drag a bit when I was walking on carpet, but it didn’t make me feel as if I couldn’t walk. I’ll only have the train out during the ceremony and photos, so I’ll be walking slowly anyway. I mean, this would be a terrible dress to have on if there was a sudden zombie outbreak, but I’m not planning on that happening on the big day.

For real, that is one of the most stunning dresses I’ve ever seen. It’s amazing and it would not look the same on just anyone, it’s like it was made for you.

It’s a gorgeous, gorgeous dress! You look stunning in it. I think I prefer it without the jacket, but both are very pretty. Congrats!
