I can see how a dress with more structure would make you feel more secure. When I tried on sheaths and was clipped in, I felt too scared to move or sit down. I would need some major shapewear. Some of the sheath dresses you can see every crease and roll and even just eating a meal would make a difference! I was adamant against strapless as well, but you’ve inspired me to try some on. I like the jacket and agree it’s a good idea to have it removeable so you can have two looks.
How are are you going to bustle it?
I’m always happy to see a bride-to-be find that perfect dress!
so gorgeous! You look like royalty!
Severine : I’d say def try some strapless on. I’d try on every style just in case to rule it out. Only takes a minute and then you’re CERTAIN that you don’t like it. I’m not sure how to bustle it. My consultant said that the bustle will fall within the layered horsehair, so it’ll add some drama to the back (not that it needs more drama). Do you know of any guides on bustles? I have no idea where to being on that.
Wow that dress! It looks beautiful on you! Congrats 🙂
looks beautiful. i love the train.
Take. Look at this guide on bustles:
Your train is so beautiful it would have to be a type of bustle that doesn’t detract too much from the beauty of the dress. I would talk to your alterations person and see what they suggest. I like the ballroom bustle described in the guide for your gown.
Severine : Ah. This is perfect! Thank you. I think you’ve got a good instinct on the ballroom bustle and I totally agree with you–it would be a shame if the bustle detracted and distracted from the overall dress. I imagine the layers of horsehair will make it easier to “hide.”
Um, this combination is gorgeous. I’m not going dress shopping for another month, but I’ve been swooning over Justin Alexander 8873…and unfortunately, it’s out of my price range. If you don’t mind me asking, how much did you pay for the jacket? I’m hoping I can achieve a similar look to the 8873!
