Picked up my gown today – it’s galina ntt3039 (t3039 just without the train). I love it but for whatever reason this time around (maybe bc I was having a less than great day) I didn’t feel as “bridal” as I did in it last time.
It still felt great on but idk.. it was missing something I felt like. I’ve been in kind of a funk lately so maybe it’s just me. What do you girls think? I’m trying to grow out my blunt bangs and plan to have them grown out by my wedding., that’s why my hair is in like 4 different odd positions in these pictures, lol. I was trying to make it not look hideous.
I also plan to take off the circle thing that’s on the bow… oh and lose some weight, lol. I’ve gained about 15 lbs since I ordered my dress. :/ The stress of school and finals will do that to ya, lol. I am also considering a birdcage veil and maybe a 3 strand pearl necklace?
What do you guys think? I need opinions – and if it looks awful you can just say that too, lol. But tips on how to make it look un-awful would be much appreciated if you do. 😉

Gorgeous dress! I love your hair 🙂

I love it! You have time to lose the weight, but I don’t think you need to. Your hair is so pretty.

You look so happy!
Just curious, are you wearing a veil? If so, what length?

@MapleMoose: When I originally tried on this dress, it was the one with a train, but my wedding is outside for the ceremony (on a dock on the beach), so I went sans train. Because I was going sans train I thought a veil wouldn’t be appropriate so I was originally going to go with a headband or a clip of some sort.
Now that the train is gone though, it feel MUCH less formal (almost too much) to me… and now I am thinking I want a bird cage veil? I really dont like any other kinds of veils, but I love the 1950s/1960s era, a lot of stuff at our wedding will have a vibe from this era – so I’m thinking the birdcage would be nice.
My problem is, I love the big bow on my dress, but I am having a hard time accessorizing because of it because I can’t figure out what goes and what doesn’t. I don’t want all my accessories to be bows either, lol. So, to answer your question (finally!, lol) I am thinking I want a birdcage veil but can’t decide what kind would look okay.

The dress is just okay.. In My Humble Opinion. I feel like the dress as is isn’t particularly flattering you as is.
Some ideas about the dress:
How many layers of crinoline are under the dress? Based on the pictures the skirt makes it look like you bigger than you are (based on when you put your hands on your hips). I would see about removing one layer of fluff if there are layers so it lays straighter but would be a more elongated A line.
Have you tried adding a colored sash under the busntline? I actually like the bow but if you’re removing it a sash could add a little sparkle or color.
Are you going to wear your hair up? Your hair is stunning down, and pearls would be very nice in addition to the dress.
And congrats on your dress getting in, I’m still waiting on a phone call for mine…

love love love your dress! So simple and elegant… very similar to mine 🙂 I would go for something like this: Both of these veils are available at this shop on Etsy

I personally think the dress is a little overwhelming on you. It may be less so if you wear your hair up.

I really love this dress and I think it looks great on you.
My suggestion would be to either ditch the bow and go with a super sparkly sash, or go with a veil to make yourself feel more ‘bridal’ and don’t put the dress on again until you’re at your ‘happy’ weight. Once you do that I’m sure that you’ll fall in love with it all over again because it really is gorgeous.

this is always one of my fav dresses – if i ever redo the wedding thing this is THE dress i will want to try and i also really like the bow. congrats!

Congrats!! You look stunning in this dress and your hair is very beautiful!

hmmm…you look gorgeous. However, there are a few pictures that the dress looks like it is ovewhelming (2,3 and second to last) you but some photos it looks good. I am not sure if they are just bad angles or what.
Honestly, I never really liked this dress because i feel it overwhelms most people in it. You have a great figure but I feel this dress is making you look a little larger than you are. You def dont look large in it but it is hidding your waist and pushing up your breasts which can be unflattering.
I think that the bow is in a weird place, I have always thought that with this dress. I do like the bow just not where it is. I would move it down an inch or so. I think that would help excentuate your waist as well. You have a gorgeous face and hair and it looks like you have a great curvy figure under all that dress. I think you should not hide your body this much. I am not a fan of tight dresses at all but you are just drowning in this dress. Changing where it hits you at the waist would make a huge difference 😀
I think you would look amazing in this dress:
This one is similar to your current dress but not as overwhelming:

@louisianablue: can I ask why it’s overwhelming? Like what elements make it overwhelming to you that is? Just curious. 🙂
@Mrs.H2B: LOVE that polka dot veil! So pretty! What dress is yours?
@cejo13: Thanks for this, it makes me feel a little better and it’s good advice. I do love my dress but I was dreading going to get it as soon as they called me bc of the weight I’ve packed on. 🙁 I also was worried that I got it without the train, sight unseen.

@bestbuddies: I love that you said I have a great figure, lol! I feel like these pictures must be really deceiving, lol. This dress is a size 16… when I ordered it – I was wearing a 12 in most clothes and a 10 in some, and I’m in a 14 now, so the dress is much snugger than it should be, but it does still zip.
I think I overwhelm the dress more than it overwhelms me but I love you for saying that, lol.
I do love my dress and with my budget and the fact that it’s already been paid for and it’s in our guest bedroom, this is my dress, like it or not, lol. I am hoping if I accessorize it well and drop some (or a LOT) of lbs, maybe it won’t look as bad. 🙁
I loved the look when I first tried it on in the store and in the store I was trying on the way too small sample size 8, which was like a 4 or 6 street size they told me. I also love how it looked on the stylemepretty bride, but that girl is probably a size 2, lol. 🙂

I don’t think the dress overwhelms you at all.
