Coordinator B sounds like a better choice all around, A wouldn’t even be in the running for me.

minnouminnou:  Coordinator B. For a vendor who you’re only dealing with for one day and who has to spend all day anticipating issues, managing people, and putting out fires, sweetness and friendliness doesn’t count for that much. I would go for familiarity with the venue, experience (you didn’t say it explicitly, but I get the sense from your post that B generally knows what she’s doing more than A does), a businesslike demeanor, and cost savings over personability and friendliness. A does not sound like she brings anything to the table.

FantasticFawn here in that Coordinator B sounds like the best bet. You want someone that will be more business like and knows the place well to run your wedding day.

With that being said I am a budget-bride and I cannot afford a REAL wedding day coordinator. I hired a friend that has her own small wedding business to do the coordinating and she hasnt been to the venue.  My venue is very basic in that its just a building with tables and chairs in it, we do everything else. I planned on taking her to the venue a few times, having a few meetings with her to update her on everything that is going on and I have full confidence that she can do it. Im taking a risk, if I were in your situation I would go with B, the safe bet 🙂

minnouminnou:  I would go B. Sounds like a lot of coordination will be needed, so familiarity with the vendor is a major bonus. I’d rather have someone all about business than someone who I can be buddy buddy with.
