I thought it would be easy to pick a ring. I have a pretty unique style, and so I thought The One would jump out at me and make it easy for me to just know which ring I want.
Of course life isn’t that easy. I have found a few rings I like, but none that I am 100 percent “I NEED THIS” with. I want to show my top two favourites and get the hives opinion.
I’ve got two rings that really stand out to me. Both are a bit ‘over the top’, and thats what i like so i’m not interested in if you hate either of them. I just want to know which you like more!
the first is a pear halo from Kays. I’ve posted this one before, I really love pear shapes, and I love the halo. It does sit really high up, and the pave makes me nervous. I’m also not a huge fan of the split shank (i’m wearing it with two bands in the photos, just to see how it looks but im not sure what I would do for bands). I really like the side veiw and the levels of the halos on this one.
And the second ring, which I found today, is a double halo, with a rose gold halo. It’s a lot smaller and simpler, but still very interesting. I love the two tones (i wish the rose gold was a bit more though!) And I really like the top view. It’s also pretty high, espeically the center stone. I really like the way the side stones show, and I like the one shank. I think this would be an easier ring to wear every day (ignore the rose gold band with it, it was to test to see if I liked it with a band. That’s not the one I would get)
So thoughts? Which do you like more?

With the stuff we hear about Kay’s here, I wouldn’t feel safe choosing either ring!
That being said, I think the pear halo is very cool!

@BrandNewBride: The second ring isn’t from Kays, but a local jewelry store! The pear is from Kays though!

@cirk: I know someone that had the first ring and the whole setting fell apart! She almost lost her center diamond and they did a terrible job fixing it. They literally soddered the outside of the second and third halo together.
I wouldnt pick either, look on James allen and blue nile!

I really like the second one! So pretty. And quite unique.

I’d being unique is important to you I vote number 2. They are both pretty but I agree with others I might look for the pear halo elsewhere due to the low quality and inflated prices at Kays.

I see that you like a double halo! I do too! I recommend checking out double halos set with cushion cuts, or elongated cushions! I think those look gorgeous in double halos 🙂 Good luck!

@FutureDrAtkins: i do love double halos! I think they’re such a statement look. I haven’t found a cushion cut one I love yet.
@prettyinpink11: I don’t feel comfortable buying a pear diamond without seeing the diamond in person, but that’s scary what happened to her setting!

I’ve been gong through the same thing as you, I spent the entire day looking in jewellery shops last weekend and still found nothing that screamed out at me.
From my own experience I would advise not getting either as there are things you still want to change about both rings. keep lookin and the right one will eventually find you! I had to look at so many to figure out what I did and didn’t like and I think after 4 months of looking I’ve found something that has all the elements I like combined.
That said, of the two I love the pear! 🙂

@cirk: i normally prefer pears but i like the 2nd one better on your hand it just suits you better i think what feels more you when you tried them on
Post # 13
The second one is very high, this will drive you nuts in about 6 months. Haha.

@cirk: my opinion is that the 2 tone halo is more wearable for every day. Remember you have to be comfortable having that on your hand every day. It took me awhile to get used to mine and ive had it a year.
THe pear would be more suseptable to getting caught on things because of the point. Just my opinion.
They are both really lovely.

@cirk: If there are certain things you like about both why not go to a jeweler and have it custom made? You could save money or even get a bigger center stone 🙂

@prettyinpink11: nice idea…I think I’m voting for 2 tone pear double halo 🙂
