@Payless:  Can I have them all? They are all cute to me. What breed is this one? So you don’t get to pick? πŸ™

@candy11:  Having a breeder pick the puppy and have the final say is really not too uncommon with breeders, especially the very reputable ones. Reputable breeders are extremely selective about who their puppies go to, and will frequently place puppies in the homes they feel are the best matches. Some people may be drawn to the hyper, active, outgoing puppy, but from what they shared with the breeder in their interviews/bios, their lifestyles are more suited for a calmer puppy, and one that shows less “breed specific traits” (like herding, burrowing, etc.).

While it might seem like a weird concept to ultimately have your pet selected for you, usually it all works out for the best in the long run. That said, as pointed out in this thread, the breeder usually asks for your input too, and makes an informed desicion based off a variety of factors!

I’m sure Payless can give you a more detailed answer, but just from what I know of breeders, this is a basic answer.

(Sorry Payless, didn’t mean to hijack!)

I love how involved the breeder seems to be, wanting the best home for the puppies πŸ™‚

@Payless:  definitely the little chick with only one sock on, #3. She’s already a mess, and I can’t stand it! πŸ˜‰

@Payless:  Maybe I am not an expert with dogs, but what type of breed are these dogs?

Number 3 reminds me of my baby! We almost got his brother until we noticed his little white paws and chest. Smile He isn’t purebred though, but he owns my heart! If you’re anything like me, whichever one you end up with will steal your heart as well!

Sorry if I missed this, but when will you find out? I am super stoked to find out which one (I really love number two, but all three are cuties!). It’s like Christmas all over!

Oh, how could you possibly choose? I know: ALL OF THEM.

Sorry, I’m not being very helpful – when I was choosing our kitten, we spent four hours at the breeder’s until he finally just gave us one to take home with us, and told us to spend some time with her. Needless to say, we kept her…
