We’re two really laid-back earthy people, so naturally we decided to have our “Rustic Romance” wedding at the beach. The Fiance doesn’t want to wear a tie (not-a-problem), but he also doesn’t want to wear a jacket (which I’m not 100% against). He just wants a linen shirt and pants. But as a girlie-girl, I’m planning on going with a ruffled organza, flowing dress (Here’s to hoping it’s my only wedding…I want a gown dammit!).
How do I make sure we don’t look too mismatched if he’s in flip-flops and a shirt and I’m in a a full-on dress?

I’ve seen a lot of pictures of weddings where the groom had khaki colored pants on (linen, etc) and the brides had full bridal gowns on.. I didn’t think it looked bad but thats just my opionion.. Me & my sister had this discussion earlier because I had considered a beach wedding & thats what the fiance would have wanted to wear & she was saying that’d be tacky..

my Fiance wants something light and comfortable for our beach wedding too. he actually wanted to wear shorts! thats where i put my foot down! we haven’t found something to wear. but we are both okay with khaki pants and a white shirt. however, i would like him to wear the jacket and tie too. but i told him him he could take them off the ceremony and pro photos are done for the rest of the night.
and my dress – maggie sottero Jenna!

I think it’s fine!! See?? 🙂
I ordered his shirt custom-made from weddingtropics.com. You can choose the collar style, number of pockets, short or long sleeve, fabric, embroidery style and embroidery thread color. They make it to his exact measurements. (And he even wore flip-flops… but then again, so did I!)
