What what it about the venue that made you HAVE TO book it??
Fiance and i have been online researching venues like mad and today went and had a look at what we thought ticked all the boxes (amazing pictures, award winning food, great location, reasonable price etc) yet when we got there we saw a beautiful veiw but that was about it.. very underwhelmed!! nothing specific, infact it was everything it claimed to be on it’s website yet both Fiance and i just didnt get excited when we got there… =(
is it like picking a dress? did u get a “THIS IS IT!!” feeling?
Tell me your venue picking stories!!!

The venue Fi and I chose was in the same town where Fi and I first lived together, so we chose the location for sentimental reasons intitally, but then we went to view it, and it took our breath away. The view is amazing, the food is unbelieveable, they have a glass chapel that’s air conditioned in case of wet/ extremely hot weather, and theres a beautiful old labradore that roams around sneaking pats.

For us it was a combo of money/value and location.
Our options were to travel pretty far [2+ hours], or have it local. We really wanted local.
From there, we didn’t have alot of options as we are from a VERY small area. It pretty much came down to if we wanted a gorgeous ceremony location, or a nice reception space.
We went with a gorgeous ceremony space, I really wanted a photographer so I wanted really pretty ceremony pictures.
This was the ceremony space we chose, historical mansion. In the right of the picture you’ll see a brick building.. thats our reception space.
I couldn’t beat the price of the ceremony OR reception space.. and we’ll have to do more decorating of the reception space that I’d like, but we saved ALOT of money and got a really pretty ceremony space so I’ve warmed up to it!

My Fiance and I first researched on location, price, logistics, then went to see the venues that looked like they might work. Many were beautiful, but the one we went with I walked in, saw it and said “I want to get married here” immediately.

We fell in love with the room – the Grand Lobby of a historic theatre. Marble floors, goldleaf detailing … it is perfect for our gold/black/ivory color scheme.
