@Rouquine:  It’s hardly surprising you feel like you do, with that set of circumstances.  I hope things get easier for you (both) soon.

I completely understand. I work in a call centre, and it is mentally exhausting. Management sucks, and I deal with abuse or people treating me like an idiot. I think I’m going to have to pick up OT during the summer. I feel your pain.

I agree no wonder you are stressed.  I couldn’t imagine being there any longer but it might be necessary until your FI’s business picks up or he is able to find more work.

Your mental and physical well-being is so important, so you should ask yourself whether doing the OT is worth the grief.  If you literally can’t make bill payments, then you may to.

@Rouquine:  Oh good!  So no OT this week?

can you float like on a Perdiem basis in other units of the/a hospital? Maybe you would enjoy perdiatrics, or OB, etc better?

Perdiem work pays big bucks cause there is no benefits  or attachments to you. so a person who makes 10 dollars an hour, might be able to make the equivalent of 20 dollars per hour since they pay wages per Day.

Hmm…at other normal hospitals are they hiring nurse assistants? Do you have the experience and skills you need? Cause you could go to a completely different hospital and try to pick up some float hours.

instead of working OT, could you cut back in some areas and spend the time helping FH promote his plumbing business or look for jobs?
