Oh I drove my guy nuts. I think I took from July 2012-February 2013 so about 7 months? I finally settled on this ring from James Allen with a OEC moissanite center stone. I still haven’t seen it yet, but I’m hoping to soon!

Honestly, I think if you are really picky – the worst thing you could do is go the custom route! Keep looking, there are SOOOO many rings out there- I find it hard to believe you couldn’t find your perfect ring! I wouldn’t risk it going custom.

Uber-picky person here. It took me several months of browsing rings online and looking at jewellery stores before we finally decided on my engagement rings. I think I still have the spreadsheets with photos of the rings, the specs and the prices for easy comparison. Needless to say, the Fiance was happy that he let me choose.

We ended getting the gemstones from Better than Diamond and having the sapphire and the emerald set by Amcor Designs and Moissaniteco respectively. I absolutely love my rings, though I do have to take the emerald into a local jewellers to have the band sized a tad smaller – that’s my fault though because I consciously wanted my rings o be a little loose but the emerald ring is just a bit too loose.

Ditto!  Took me 3 months, 2 mall trips, 2 independent store trips and easily 100 hours “researching” on line.   I had 4 thread here because I felt like I was probably annoying my friends w/ questions.  I also had a 8 point criteria for my Mossanite, including size, shape and style. He put it on layaway (he’s buying it next month) so I can’t keep changing my mind until then.  Have not seen it in person- but I love it already! No turning back now!

@Rubbs:  Really beautiful!

@Rubbs:  Aw thanks.  Although the offical proposal will be lovely I might just start crying for joy to put the damn ring on finally!  I dream about the damn thing!

I was very very picky in that I new exactly what I wanted, I didn’t want anything else (although I am sure I would have found another ring I loved if he didn’t want to get me this one), I have known for years I wanted the Tiffany & Co Tiffany Setting in yellow gold. So we only went shopping once so he could look at it, then he went to put the order in and the deposit, then went to pay the rest and pick it up!

Here it is 🙂

My ring took forever to find! We went to over 10 stores looking and came up with nothing every time! It took quite some time.. I knew what I wanted but it was nowhere to be found (ofcourse now that I have mine, every store I walk into has them!!).  I was looking for either a pair or marquise with a halo and stones down the shanks.  No store had either! I was told many times I could have it custom made but I was nervous about not being able to see it until we had invested money into it….the Fiance wouldn’t buy a ring till I found exactly what I wanted because he wanted me to love it and be happy with it.  So after walking through numerous stores we happened to be in our local mall (yes I know bad place to get jewlery, but whatever!) I walked into 3 of the 4 stores and ended up having a melt down at the mall, crying and all.  I was so upset that I would never find the ring I wanted…thus holding off an engagement.  Well the 4th store had a halo marquise with stones down the shank!! Fell in love with it, tried it on and absolutely adored it.  A few months later I was suprised to find it around my puppy’s neck! Smile Takes time to find the right one, but it’s so worth it! I love mine 150% and wouldn’t trade it for anything.

(My Engagement Ring is on the left, the right is my promise ring)
