I think the idea is fun and cute; however I just had a picture in my head of my grandmother who finds it hard to get up of a chair… I think if you have older guests, they might be uncomfortable, especially if they have to sit for a long time..

I think it’s a great idea, but I do agree with the comment about seating for older guests.  We have even tossed around the idea of a rehearsal lunch/picnic on the beach instead of the traditional dinner.

I would worry about elderly guests, too. You could always rent a few picnic tables to seat them and have the majority of guests on blankets. It’s an adorable idea!

I love this idea! But be sure to warn your guests ahead of time – I can imagine plenty of women showing up in skirts that are NOT realistic for ground sitting 🙂

Cute! Yeah, just throw in a few picnic tables and you’re good to go! How unique!

Yes, you just have to provide a seating option as well.  (Think- ladies in short skirts, elderly, etc.)

I would definitely throw in some picnic tables in as well. I’d sit on the blankets, but I know my grandma would have something to say about needing a proper seat. 🙂

This is what we wanted to do for our wedding! : ) It’s so amazingly affordable, and I love picnics! You might want to book a venue that has a couple tables (for people with disabilities/limited range of motion) or bring some spare lawn chairs — but I would so totally go! (We ended up changing our plans because a summer wedding didn’t fit in the schedules.)
