this is the best reference i have so i hope it helps! The top is 2 carat on 1.5 mm band and bottom is 3 carat on 2 mm band! I definitely think you did good with 2mm. I definitely prefer it😊

My diamond is slightly smaller (1.71) and my band is slightly wider (2.5 mm). I think the 2 mm not only looks better, but it is better all around for a solitaire that size. 1.5 mm bands are quite thin, and while some people have no issue with them, a 2 ct stone can create some powerful torque if it gets caught on something; a 2 mm band will withstand that better than the 1.5.

@keadelin:  I have a 2 mm band (comfort fit) with a 1.51 stone and I wouldn’t go smaller. I love the band on the one you chose! PS My wedding band is 3 mm.

Ill go in the opposite direction… I have a 1.23 c in a 2.5 mm and I love how it looks! My fingers are long and I thought a thin band would get lost. I kind of wish the band was even thicker! But we will need to budget for a larger diamond if I want that 😂😂

1.85ct (7.8 mm) and 2.73ct (9.03mm) both in 1.8mm knife edge setting.  Ring size 5.75. 1.5mm is very thin for a ring being worn daily.  1.8mm for a plan band and 2mm for a band with pave are usually the thinnest jewelers recommend for daily wear.

My solitaire is 1.96 carats, and I think my band is 2mm (I need to double-check).

@mrssmithabc:   Thank you for your kind words. I recently had to ‘upgrade’ as I didn’t take regular care of my 4-prong 1 carat and it fell out after 15 years (worst day ever), so I’m still getting used to it.

2.04 carat, band is around 2.5mm, but it’s a knife edge so it looks thinner!
