I’m pretty tall (about half an inch shy of six foot) and about an inch taller than my OH. Couple that with the fact that I have huge feet and only feel glam when I’m wearing heels, and we have a bit of a mismatch! I only wear heels for going out, but can’t imagine not wearing at least small heels for my wedding. Even if we give my OH lifts or cuban heels(!), he’s still going to be shorter than me.
Please share your tall bride pics and help me feel more confident about this issue!!!

@RainStorm: no wedding photos yet, BUT I’m 5’11 and my Fiance is about 6’1. He has agreed to wear shoe lifts so I can wear heels and not tower over him. I’m wearing a short dress so I want a pair of kick ass heels.
I wear heels when we go out but we are mostly sitting down so it doesn’t matter.

Every pic in every wedding dress designer’s website is of tall glamorous brides.
Your feet will not be visible if you are wearing a long dress.

@julies1949: But they’re never next to short grooms! (to be fair, he isn’t short, he’s slightly taller than average 🙂 )

@Miss Tattoo: where do you get these shoe lifts?!?!? do you just stick them in the shoes and thats it or do you secure them?

@Ms.Teddy: I haven’t ordered them yet. I’ve seen a couple of sites with them. They just slide into the man’s shoe and that’s it!

No pics for me yet, either, but I am also 5’11” and a half. My fiance is about two inches taller and has asked me to wear nothing higher than a one inch heel so the pictures don’t look “weird.” I can’t imagine him ever wearing shoe lifts! Those are pretty neat, though. 🙂

Most of you sound like you’ll manage to look the same height or slightly shorter than your OH. Mine’s and inch and a half shorter before we even start! Even with lifts and me in flip-flops, it’s not going to happen 🙂

Really?! No other bees are taller than their OH? I realise it’s a bit unusual (and I never thought I’d fall for a shorter man, but at nearly six-foot that leaves a limited pool of men…).
Tall brides, please share!!!

Darling Husband and I are the same height (6’1″)

Mrs. Star was a lot taller than Mr. Star, but it’s still not something that jumped out at me when I did their day-after session. Really, you’d be surprised how little you notice things like that when you look back on beautiful pictures of the two of you. I guess the steps in these photos helped a bit too, we put Mr. Star on a higher step 🙂 Sitting down photos or higher vantage point pictures also help minimize the appearance of height differences.

Im 6 ft and have always felt like amazon woman standing next to anyone shorter than me so I feel your pain. Maybe it would make you feel more comfortable to wear flats for pictures and ceremony and heels for dancing and the rest of the night.

My fiance is 5’8″ and I am 6′. Neither of us has any issues with this gap nor do I think we are going to look weird or have to hide the fact that I am taller for our photos.
If you want to wear heels, go for it! Due to my lack of coordination and inability to stand still, I will be wearing flats — as will my guy. No inserts for him . . .
