Would this dress look odd if I added sleeves to it? For some reason, I feel like it’s missing something. It looks great in person but I think the pics make it look sort of blah. What do you think? Maybe I am just used to wearing strapless dresses a lot so I feel like it’s missing something up above.
My dress and my sash that I chose. No alterations yet.
With a bolero…
ETA: This is what it looks like with sleeves on this dress:

@jessyrez: I think those sleeves would be prettier than the bolero.

like the sleeve idea instead of the bolero

I like the idea of the sleeve, the bolero covers up too much I think.

Yes – I think a sleeve would look beautiful. A small piece of lace or lace trimmed with sparkly beading would look really pretty!

@jessyrez: I Love this look!

I like the sheer cap sleeves! I like the sleeves better than the bolero.

Are you hemming your dress? Could you use the extra lace from that to add a sleeve? Love the sheer look too/

Sleeves over a bolero!
I also think a sweetheart neckline would jazz it up if you’re open to that idea.

Voting for sleeves as well! Partly because I think it would look beautiful with this dress, partly because I have a personal problem with all dresses that show that little roll in your armpit. 🙂

I agree that the sleeves would add that little extra something. The bolero is too heavy looking.

I vote no sleeves, particularily because I hate them personally lol To me they make dresses look less glamorous and can make you seem ”older”….. I think that dress would look great with a sweetheart neckline altered for it.

Is the dressed designed with an option for sleeves? If not, I say leave it as is. I often think sleeves, especially the sheer cap sleeves, cheapen the look of the dress. I feel like I can always tell with those ones, that they’ve been added, and that they’re there to hide something, only they really just draw your attention to that spot. I love dresses with sleeves, but only if they are meant to come with the dress in the first place.
