I was reading this month’s Brides and they interviewed Gail Simmons (I have no idea who she is, BTW). They asked her what the sweetest memento was that she had received at a weeding. Her response:
“Friends had a photographer take two polaroids of each guest on arrival. One was put in a leather bound album for the couple to keep.”
This got me thinking…. I don’t like the polaroid idea but I do like the idea of getting a photo of myself and the groom with each guest. Since our guest list is only at 30 people, I think this is do-able….
Could I give each guest a picture frame with some kind of message stating they would receive a pic of us together, then mail out the photo with the thank you card?
Honestly, I think favors are a waste of money so I was going to skip them all together, or just get some generic mints. But, I kind of really like this idea.
Is this crazy or genius? What wording could I use with the empty frame? I guess I would just give one per couple so how do you set those on the table without it looking odd since there’s not one at each place setting?

I think it’s a great idea because it’s really personal.

It’s a really nice idea, and manageable because of your small guest list. If you wanted to keep costs down you could always get frames from Dollar Tree.

i think it’s a great idea 🙂 or you could just have chocolates next to each plate on the day, and then when you get all the photos mail them out in the frames 🙂 when my cousin got maried she did something like this, chocolates on the day and then sent out personalized frames with a photo of them on the wedding day with the thank yous 🙂

My uncle did this and it was SOOO sweet and was fairly simple (polaroid) I say go for it! I would appreciate it as a guest

You could get one of those small photo printers. Then after the photos have been taken, get someone to whack the memory card in the side of the printer and press print.

I think it would work for your wedding based on numbers. I would leave the frames at the place settings with an explanation card- to save postage if nothing else. Why would yoou want to mail the frames?
