@abbie017:  +1, that’s my plan/thought as well. We will be doing as many pictures before as possible, so that we can enjoy cocktail hour with our guests.

We will not be doing a first look. We will have getting ready pictures, and may take some solo shots or shots with just our side of the Bridal Party, but we won’t see each other or take any large group pictures. We were on the fence about it to begin with, but I’m a traditionalist at heart and our schedule actually works better without a first look.

Heck, I think our photogs are the only ones in the whole world who prefer that couples DON’T do one (their thinking is that everyone is stressed/rushed before the ceremony, whereas after, you’re relaxed and happy and riding on cloud 9).

We have over a three hour gap between our ceremony and reception, so it’s not like we’re missing anything or will be cutting pictures short – we’ve got plenty of time.
