That sounds like a fun time. It seems like they are a pretty laid back couple and that their wedding/reception will reflect that.

I’ve heard of it, and while it’s not something I’d personally do, I soooo want to go to a wedding like the someday! It would be such a blast.

I love it!  We thought about that, but we didn’t want to deal with worrying about DIYing the pig roast along with everything else.

@brendaray2009:  I’ve heard of it and I think it would be really fun. We honestly would have done that if we could have had our wedding at my parents house (they have 19 1/2acres and a 2 acre pond, its beautiful there). But unfortunately most of FIs family is coming from out of town and having all of his family try to find my parents house out in the middle of no where just seemed too difficult. But it can definately be done tastefully. 🙂

That sounds DELICIOUS! That’s what we’re doing for our rehearsal (minus the pig. Those are EXPENSIVE!)

We thought about doing a hog roast.  (My Dad is very proud of his homemade hog roasting contraption)  But it is a lot of work, and we really didn’t want to deal with it on the wedding day, so we opted for a caterer instead.

My cousin is doing a pig roast reception for her wedding next summer, in her own yard.   Still going to be a nice affair, but more casual.   She’s getting nice chairs and linens, wait staff and everything, so it’s not so much buffet style, but still casual and classy at the same time.   It sounds SO COOL and everyone around here loves mechoui (pig roast)
