OK, so last night, when I went to take my birth control pill, I dropped it! It was no where to be found… I looked everywhere! So, my question is… Should I have taken today’s pill last night and then been a pill short at the end of the month, or just skip it, and use back up(or abstain…) I can’t believe I did that! I’m always so careful, we want to start trying as soon as well get married, but I have no growing room in my dress if anything would happen now!! TIA!

Keep taking your pills like normal and then just be one pill short at the end of the month, you’ll probably get your period a day sooner, but no biggie. Def don’t completely skip a pill in the middle of your cycle.

Since this was last night, I think if you skipped that pill, then today, just take your pills as usual. Also, whenever in doubt use backup contraceptive. I’m super crazy and will use back up for the whole rest of the month but I think you only need it for a week or something. You should call your pharmacist abd double check that or see if you have the instruction pamphlet still for your pills that come in the packaging– it might say there though it’s usually strickly worded for if you forgot (and they assume you still have the extra pill somewhere). In any case, I say use backup 🙂

Since you didn’t take last night’s pill, today, if your pills are in front of you, take one right now. Then take another one at your normal time. Otherwise, take two at your normal time (as if you just forgot to take your pill last night). Then at the end of the month you’ll just be one short, which is fine. DON’T just skip taking the pill. Take two today to make up for yesterday, and really, the sooner you take the first one today, the better. Then you should still use back-up BC for a week until the hormones balance out again.
If you ever drop one and can’t find it, just take the next day’s pill and carry on as normal from there.

I’d call my doctor. Doctors get free sample packs, so they could probably give you an extra one so you would be short at the end of the month.
