My dream dress (Maggie Sottero’s Josie) came in today, in the WRONG size… I had not yet put down the deposit but was SOOO looking forward to trying this dress on in my plus size 22/24. (impossible to find it in any size bigger than a 12. the store owner got it in a 12 and is going to order my size again to try on but says that she won’t receive it for FIVE-SIX months. She says I can come in and she will “pin it on me” so I can get an idea of how it looks. but that unless I acutally put down the deposit now it will take 5-6 months to get another one in the right size.
Does pinning a dress on you that is 5-6 sizes smaller ACTUALLY WORK??? I mean if it is that big a size difference can you really tell what it is going to look like?
Please let me know if you have tried this and how it went.

Also, is ordering the dress 5 months before the wedding too late to order it?? I mean if I wait to try it on in 5-6 months is that too late to order it??

Depends on how fast the dress can be shipped once you officially order it. Mine’s taking almost exactly 6 months to come in.

You have a year and if you love the dress that much I would wait for it. Otherwise it will be the one that you wonder about. I would let her try pinning it if only because it could help you decide that it NOT the dress. Good luck!

i would try the pinning idea. It will look akward because it is too small but you might be able to get a better idea of how it will look.

Have they accepted it was their fault? Can you use that as a tool to get them to rush order it at their cost?

No… As there was no deposit yet she “requested it” in that size and “they sent her the wrong size” aka what they had in stock. She says she can request it again but like I said it will take 5-6 months to get in…
