Family jeweler (and friend) sent these with my parents so I could look at them for my engagement ring. Same setting, different stones. One is a 3.64 ct blue sapphire, the other is a 4.1 ct pink sapphire. I am at a loss for which to like more!? Help? A few things to keep in mind:
-Ring HAS NOT been set, yet, (ie interchanging the two stones). The prongs will be cut and folded over the chosen stone
-If blue is chosen, we will actually get a stone the same size as the pink one. The blue one shown here was just to give us an idea as to what it would look like in the setting
-Pink looks pink in all lighting. Blue tends to turn very dark in darker lighting or when a pic is taken farther away.
– People comment that I look like Princess Kate and others have said that the blue ring is ‘so Kate’. I find this annoying. Blue has always been a favorite color, but being pinged for following a celeb fad is annoying to me…I follow no one lol.
-Our jeweler will be charging nearly the same for both rings, however, the pink stone is worth 2x more (not that this matters that much, but it may break the tie-breaker)
What are your opinions? Anyone made this decision before? Anyone get negative reviews for a pink ring?

(sorry for the awkward pics…was trying to not to let the stones fall out of the setting)

I much prefer the blue. The pink one looks a bit TOO pink for my taste (to the point of looking too unnatural) and comes off as more of a cocktail ring.
The blue one is timeless and elegant and I’d have a much easier time wearing it day-to-day. The pink would be hard to coordinate with the majority of my wardrobe.

The pink is so unique and delicate. It’s well suited to the setting. I like the blue but I would stop someone in the street wearing the pink.

Blue! The pink sapphire has an artificial color to it. The blue sapphire looks more classic.

I usually like pink! But honestly I love love love the BLUE! I think it looks great! So beautiful!!! Love your setting as Well! Besides the setting does not look like Kate, so it doesn’t really look like her ring. Id go with the blue! It looks really nice for every day wear.

I prefer the blue, seems that it would go with everything. Blue is my favorite color. The pink is too bright, and too hot pink for my liking. Maybe if it was a peachy pink, then I’d say pink. Like the pink shades of morganite. I love the setting. Congratulations!!

The blue is a more classic ring. The pink colour specifically on this stone looks artificial – like a bubblegum pink. I think a lighter pink would be easier to wear (if you were to go pink).

They are both beautiful but I would choose the blue, it looks more classic and I think it would go well with lots of outfits

I hate the blue its so dark , looks almost black which I cant stand black stone they look cheap to me , but this is me not you . If you like get it , what you like what matters . But I love pink and have pink sapphire as my ring 🙂

The blue looks gorgeous and fancy. Dark blue vivid sapphires like that are not cheap looking.
The pink one looks very, very artificial. If you would have shown me a picture just of the ring, no details, I would have thought the pink stone was pink glass, not a gemstone.

I like the blue. I have a pink sapphire but I agree with other posters that the blue has a more classic look to it. The pink is too bright pink for my taste. The setting is gorgeous and fits both colors!

Thank you everyone! I’ve told my hubby all you had to say I made it up to him to choose. He always picks what is best!
