larissakay :  Here is my little routine.  I ice my booty for about 5 minutes.  While I am icing, I warm the vial up in a heating pad for about 3 minutes then give it to my wife to load up the shot.  Times out pretty well for her to come back with it and for me to ice sufficiently.  After, I sit on a heating pad for about 10 minutes and massage the area to reduce knots.  The night of, I am usually fine.  It is the next day that I am sore.  Some days it is hardly noticable.  Or some days are like yesterday where I couldn’t move without being so sore.  Overall, my pain is minimal and bruising isn’t too awful just a few tiny ones.  If I have a bad day like yesterday, I will use the heating pad when I get home from work for a little bit.

Hopefully someone out there has a magic trick because I would love to not have anymore days like yesterday haha.

1111makeawish :  that icing and massaging should help a lot. That’s about all I did and didn’t have issues, but I’ve got a chunky booty 😉 They were by far the worst in terms of getting the meds in since the oil is thicker, so I found myself pushing much harder to get it in…that might have something to do with it. Are you doing the shots or your DH? I did them myself, but it may help to have someone else try if you aren’t already.

larissakay :  oof, they suck so I feel you.  I did them every night for 10 weeks when I was pregnant with my daughter and by the end my booty was feeling it. I would always stick the vial in my bra to warm it up for about 10 minutes before the shot which helped the injection pain. After my husband gave me the shot he’d get me a heating pad (moist heat!) and rub my butt for at least 10 minutes. Rotate your injection sites so you aren’t stabbing the same spot over and over again!

Just a warning that any exercise may be more uncomfortable during this time. I thought I was doing pretty well a few weeks in and then I had to sprint to catch a train….I was DYING when I sat down. My muscle were far more sore than I realized!

larissakay :  I did the pio shots and what helped me was after each injection I always used a heating pad on the spot for about 5 or 10 minutes. One time I was out and didnt and it hurt a lot afterwards but when I used the heating pad I didnt have any knots or pain really.  Some women use ice before sticking the  needle in and warming up the oil but I never did bc the needle never really bothered me. I should add I did mine for 10 weeks and I was never really bothered by the pain much as long as I used the heating pad. Good luck!

I don’t have any specific advice for injections, sorry. 🙁  but I do know a miracle cure for bruises! There’s an essential oil blend I get on Amazon called Tei Fu that is AMAZING. It’s helped me after dog attacks, surgery, slamming my hand in a door, all sorts of random injuries. I’m not a huge essential oil fan except for cleaning, but that stuff really works. It smells like wintergreen, god knows what else is in it. But it’s the BEST for pain and bruising. It reduces the pain and makes bruising heal way faster. It even helps with headaches if you put it on your temples. I’m a huge fan. Best of luck, I hope you can get comfortable!

candy08 :  you reminded me of some of the weird places we did my shots if we weren’t home lol. My favorite was still in the car in a dark alley and someone walked by and I realized I must have looked crazy lol.

My Dh did them for me. We would ice for a bit first then he would massage and use heat after. I barely felt them.
