I am really hoping to hire a videographer for my August wedding… I am getting married in Johnstown, so anything in the Western PA area is possible, I guess. I’m really looking for some recommendations of affordable and professional individuals… I’m even willing to contact reliable film students, etc. ANY help beyond what I’ve already googled would be super appreciated!

I contacted Randi Voss and waiting to hear back. She didn’t know where she was going with the whole videography thing. She had attended a few workshops and one with Stillmotion. She’s a photographer too.
Look under the cinema catagory.

I LOVED my videographer. they are absolutemediaproductions.com
I’ll post my video for you this week (they are going to put it up on their website this week – I just saw it for the first time last night and I am so excited – it was perfect.
They cover the NJ NY and PA area from what I understand, so it could be a good fit.
🙂 Happy hunting!

I am also interested in this. We are spending a ton of money on photography. So I don’t want our videogrpaher to be too much.

I’m going to bump this, as well as give you some suggestions. One of my friends teaches video classes, and does videography on the side. His prices are really reasonable, and he’s a great guy:
I’ve also looked into these guys, and their stuff looks pretty good, too:

@JillBill: Look into Cana Films. A husband and wife team – beautiful, artistic filmaking. Jenny is very down to earth to talk to. Not inexpensive, but great to work with and they come highly recommended by fellow vendors!

Right now–I’m in process of booking a CL find. He has only done films thus far, but he is out of school, affordable, and nothing I’ve seen of his work bothers me. Others I looked at had weird auto focus things that drove me nuts. Just go to craigslist and search for cinematography or videography under services. There’s some crappy stuff in there, but you’ll find a gem every once in awhile.
Oh, and Cana was my first love. However, their prices start at 4K and for what I would want it would be 6K. I just can’t justify that cost when I could be spending more money on things my guests will actually care about (though their talent would be worth it if you felt OK dropping that on videography).
