Hi girls –
I am having my engagement pictures taken this Spring. I have NO IDEA where we are going to take them. I was thinking Schenley Park but I don’t know if there are better/prettier places. I am welcome to suggestions!
If you don’t mind posting, I would love to see some of your pictures! Thanks so much!

I’m trying to figure out this exact thing. Here’s my list of possibilties:
2. Station Square
3. The point
4. Hartwood Acres
5. Frick Park
6. Mellon Park
That’s all i got so far. I don’t know what they’re policy is, but perhaps Phipps would appeal to you if you’re into flowers and such.

Those are all wonderful ideas. I googled “Pittsburgh’s Best Engagement Session Locations” and I found a photogrpahers page that lists their favorite spots. That helped me out a lot.
Hopefully that site will help you out too!

Our wedding is at Hartwood. ^_^
Are you going for nice flowery backgrounds or more urban? I love downtown photos in like Market Square or at The Point. Mt. Washington and the lookouts are nice. There are fun places in Oakland and Shadyside.

We did some of ours at the West End Overlook (it has just as good of a view as Mount Washington, but we live in the West End so we found it to be more appropriate) and some downtown. We did them on a Sunday that there was a Pirate game so one of the bridges was closed to cars, and we got some fun shots in the middle of the bridge.
On the bridge:
And our STD Picture was just a random shot downtown:

I love the west end lookout! (just not at night. lol) It has the perfect view of the point.

@Miss Tattoo: Seriously…if anyone NOT from Pittsburgh sees these and thinks “oh, I should go to the West End Lookout on my trip to Pittsburgh” only go when the sun is up…it isn’t in the best neighborhood…

I’m trying to figure this out too! My fiance suggested the zoo, and our photographer suggested Mellon Park. I kind of want an enchanted forest kind of feel, so I have no idea where to go.
Downtown has some great architecture, and the North Shore has some great urban/graffiti-like settings!

@MandaMack:lol when I was playing around with photography I wanted a night shot of the city since I only had one from Mt. Washington’s view and you know it’s just the side view of the city. So I went up to the West End at like 10pm in the summer and the cops actually told me to get back in my car and get out of the neighborhood. Then they saw my tags (I still have WV plates) and escorted me out of the neighborhood! I was like WTF!? I just want a photo!!!! That was a few years ago. They told me that some shady characters hang out in the park after dark.
