Lingrow was tiny when I was planning my first wedding, but it looks like they’ve really expanded.  That being said, they were wonderfully nice and friendly.

@ilerat131:  Congrats on your engagement! I’m originally from Lower Burrell, so I’m pretty familiar with that area! Smile That being said, I was married in State College, so I don’t have firsthand wedding experience with these places…but what about:

  • Sometimes you can get a really good deal using a park as a venue – just keep in mind the catering and tenting (and possibly alcohol permit) costs

  • Springwood Conference Center
  • White Barn
  • Narcisi Winery
  • Wooden Door Winery
    • I’m not sure if they host weddings, but I know some have held their bridal showers here

There are more that are farther away (Laurel Highlands, etc.) – check out this site for more info.

If all else fails, you can still bring the outdoors in.  You could use barn and outdoor elements inside to style your space and maintain your theme.

It’s gonna be real hard to have a fall wedding at this point. Stuff books real far out especially the less expensive stuff. I would wait until next fall of 2014 or at least next spring just because of the budget.
