Well, I hate fancy food that a lot of people have at their weddings.  I’m all about simple food, and I love pizza.

Plus, it’s your wedding.  If you want pizza and salad, do it!  I would be happy, as a guest, if you had that.  ๐Ÿ™‚

@shannabanana218:  What price per person are you hoping for?  I love pizza bu might find it a little casual if youre going for a formal feeling.  And I hate to say it but if I gave our standard $150-200 gift for attending a formal reception and ended up with a slice of dominoes I’d definitely raise an eyebrow.  It is about the context to me a little bit. Like of I went to a Wedding where the bride had an expensive dress, a venue that’s a gorgeous backdrop, pricey photog and you can see expenses were only spared on the things that would be for the enjoyment and comfort of the guests… It just looks kind of bad and possibly gift grabby.

What about pasta like lasagne and salad at least?

I think with the right presentation, it could be amazing! Maybe offer a ton of selections on varying serving levels with nice serving utensils. Maybe consider something like this:

I think this looks awesome – and notice that the venue still looks fairly upscale. I would just attempt to mix the casual pizza element with some nice linens and serving styles. The salad buffet is a great idea too.

I love the look of casual meets elegance, so I LOVE your idea!

PS – just make sure you have options for people who are gluten intolerant or can’t eat cheese.

PS. I might consider offering other sides than just salad, too. Maybe some breadsticks?

I think perhaps doing some fresh gourmet pizzas would be a great idea. Presenation is key. I think it can be fun. Although some people are horrified when anyone dares step outside of traditional wedding box.

@MsMonkey:  Oh that looks gooooooooood! If it is done that way I think it can be pulled off.

It’s your wedding. If you want pizza then I’d say do pizza.  I’d like to have pizza at a reception.

Depends how formal everything else is. It’s fine to have pizza for a more casual affair, but it seems off to me to haev pizza if everyone is dressed to the nines and everything else is lavish.

I wouldn’t mind buffalo wings or bites with my pizza if I was at your wedding. Just don’t forget the dipping sauces or there will be a brawl!
