This weekend we have pretty much got everything in order but the decor, which is good since we are deciding between a Feburary or May wedding at the moment. We located venue and eventhough we doubled our budget it is better for us since we get everything done at one place with a planner given to us, can you say low stress. I know I want some orchids and everything is going to be more on the organic side for construction for florals I am curious if you bees have a preference for place card styles. We are doing a more formal event so at each table I was thinking of doing the orchid name card hanging off the wine glass but what should I do to let people know which table before they re-enter the room after it gets turned back into the reception.
Should we do a nice big hanging sign that we have printed at a local shop? Should we do the tented style just set on the table? How about just flat cards set in some type of display?
I would love to see your ladies inspiration for your place/escort cards and tables

I really like the idea of them hanging on the glass….I’ve never seen that. We had a small Destination Wedding wedding and had 1 long table so ours were just placed directly on the table. We didn’t have table #s since it was 1 long estate table.

@anemone681: We’re still working out the details, but my plan is to have placecards that double as favors… so if we did, say, a box with chocolate inside, the box would have each person’s name and would be set at their seat.

i really like the look of them folded up on a table but wheel like a board would be easier for guests to find their table & name so don’t know what we are going to do :/

Okay ladies we are still thinking of going with the glass name places but maybe in the rose instead of the orchid but what do you think of this for the table assignments for guests. Is it too rustic/casual for a semi-formal sunset wedding?

I think if you are going to the trouble to assign actual seats with those awesome place cards on the wine glasses, don’t overdo it with the table assignments. Have you seen something like the mirrored table assignments here?
