I’m having the same style reception and we’re just doing a trio of different votive and tealight candles in glass holders on each table. Since the tables are high-tops and smaller than regular dining tables, I didn’t want anything that would take up a lot of space.

i’m also having a heavy hors d’oeuvres reception (all passed) and we are not doing place settings (or seating arrangements, for that matter).  We’ll have a mix of tables – some smaller, some larger, some hi-boys…  i’ll probably vary the centerpieces depending on the tables…

I’m thinking about getting table runners – at least for the big tables, just to break up the solid color…

I’m having the same type of reception and not having a lot of tables. I’m doing a few for the older people to sit and be comfortable, but I want the rest of my guests to mingle and chat and have a good time.. so I’ll have chairs around the room, but not many tables. I’m having centerpieces on the tables, but no place settings.

We’re having both centerpieces & place settings of only silverware, napkins and glassware, but varied sized dishes at all stations. We’re using triangular, square and rounds. All tables are 72″ & 90″ as well as some high tops outside.
