Have been looking at the ring porn and here’s something that I’ve always wondered about. How do you wear your engagement ring and your wedding ring? Is the wedding ring closer to the bottom of your finger, then the engagement ring or visa versa?
Just curious. I’ve seen it both ways.

@karenk92: You can do it any way you want. There’s no real “right” answer. I’ve seen it both ways and where you wear one ring on each hand (which is what I’m doing for a couple reasons to include a German cultural thing).

Typically you wear the engagement ring on top of the wedding band.

“Traditionally, woman wear both an engagement ring and wedding band following a wedding ceremony. The wedding band is placed on first and then the engagement ring is placed on top of that on the left hand ring finger. This is rooted in the idea that the wedding ring should be placed closest to the heart. Some woman wear the wedding ring above the engagement ring, connecting the relationship of the engagement into a solid union of marriage.”

I was planning on wearing my wedding band on the bottom, closest to my heart. BUT I ended up getting an enhancer for my e-ring as my wedding band because of how low my diamond sits, so now the ‘wedding band’ is wrapped around the e-ring and is both on the top and the bottom.
For your question though, I have ALWAYS seen it as the wedding ring on the bottom, ering on top.

My family always wears the wedding band first, then the engagement ring.

I wear my wedding ring on the bottom, then my engagement ring. Sometimes just my wedding ring. I had always planned on that, and it looks better.

I’ve almost always seen the band on the bottom. I’ve tried mine the other way and it looks so strange to me because I’m not used to it.

I am not married yet, but I have my wedding band and I always try it on with it under my e-ring since that’s how I plan on wearing it after we’re married.

TECHNICALLY, the wedding ring is supposed to be “closer to your heart” (closer to the bottom of your finger). Personally, my band looks weird like that just because of the style of my e-ring, so I might wear it further away, but I love the sentiment of the band being closer…ugh! I don’t know what to doooooo! : D

I will wear mine e-ring first then wedding ring on top. It looks odd to me the other way round. I feel like my setting would catch more if it was higher up my hand. I dont want that.
