Hoping for some help! I’m trying to decide if I want to go with a plain band or a mismatched diamond band (really liking marquise diamond bands) to go with my engagement ring (eng949a from MoCo). I don’t really like the look of matched diamond bands because on my finger it looks like a thick double row pave band and looks not great — it looks awesome for some people but just seems to overwhelm my finger almost, and take away from the daintiness of my e-ring which I love.
Pictures are below! Forgive my lack of manicure, I got my nails done right after these photos haha

I love the diamond band one. Your stone is beautiful by the way

I voted marquis and love that one!
I think a plain band would look ok too, but I dont think the one in the picture has enough “height” for your ering (how wide it is off your finger), I would want them to match in that way. <just my opinion>
Your ring is beautiful and whatever you pick will look great! Love it!

Plain band all the way! I like the one you are modelling , but I think a slightly more substantial one would look even better.

I agree with those saying that if you go with a plain band, you need one that better matches the depth of your ering (so that the distance from the outer edge of the band to your finger is more equal).
If you love the marquise rings, I think you should consider getting a plain band AND a marquise ring- only because your current love might wane or your style shift and so it would be good to have something to switch it up.

I am voting for plain, but would also suggest, that you take one that is higher and maybe even wider?

BOTH. hahah I <3 stacks and these both would look so beautiful

I am probably biased because I have a stack, but that would be a seriously stunning stack. If you have to pick one I LOVE the diamond band.

plain, but in yellow or rose gold

Thanks for all the input everybody! Good point about the height/depth of the plain band — I liked that it sat flush against my ring (since it was flat against the base of the cathedral part instead of level with the prongs), but I agree it looks a little funny not being the same height.
I tried it as a stack in the store, and I felt like it was too bulky! Maybe a thinner plain band? I don’t know if my fingers are long enough to rock a stack.
Thanks for the advice, I think I’ll go for the diamond band for now and search for a plain band that fits with my ring better so I can use that one too sometimes 🙂
