@GeekChic:  I’m not a jeweler, but I’m assuming that if there’s no stones set, they would just need to solder extra gold to make it larger. But I would check with a jeweler.

@GeekChic:  I’m pretty sure you can do anything you want to a plain gold band, but you will probably have to pay for the extra gold they need to add to fill the gap.

I’m not a jeweler, but my guess would be no.  You could ask a jeweler.  3 sizes is a big resize, plain band or no.  If it ends up being a no, at least plain bands aren’t too terribly expensive.

I was told by a jeweler once (and maybe those that work in the jewelry industry can confirm this) that in order to size a ring larger they widen it (ie. stretch it)  from the inside.  Does that make sense?  You can usually only go up a size or two without compromising the integrity of the ring.  I would think going up 3 sizes would be an issue.

shouldnt be a problem just take it to a good jeweler
