juniperk16, I’m sorry but I don’t quite understand your question…what do you mean by “plain solitaire” as opposed to diamond solitaire?

I’m biased because I have a plain solitaire but I love how classic and timeless they look!! Can’t go wrong with either setting though!

@msuttman8:  I think she meant plain band or pavé?

Wondering the same as PPs, but if you meant diamonds on the shank or a plain shank, I personally love the classic look of a diamond solitaire on a plain shank! Really timeless and keeps the focus on the diamond.

Thanks ladies for the clarification.  I think I would vote for a plain shank for the ring.

I personally love my plain band solitaire because I can dress it up with sparkly wedding bands and the plain band doesn’t compete with my center stone. But both look beautiful, so go with what makes you happy!

@juniperkl6:  I recently got engaged and opted for a plain shank because I like the classic look. The center stone gets all the attention with an option to add some sparkle with your wedding band. I was at the jewellers today brainstorming ideas – attached my own photo but Pinterest is the best for inspiration!

@rliz2021:  I just love your set. I’m with you I prefer plain because you can bling it out iwth beautiful eternity band. Plus the plain really makes the center stone stand out beautifully.

I love a good one row pave on the band for a solitaire, so that’s what I vote. In my opinion sometimes the only metal bnds can look kind of plain. But it you want to do a whole stack or blingy wedding band, a plain band could make more sense.

I just got my new ring and decided to go with a plain solitaire. Excited to be able to buy more bands to stack with it! I also love how it looks by itself though. I would say, go try on both and see which you like more! Consider if your budget will allow multiple bands (to mix and match or stack), and see if that changes your plans. I’ll attach a couple pics I took on my way home from getting my ring, with and without band.

@juniperkl6:  I vote plain! You can pair it with any wedding band.
