jfallon:  that was almost my dress! i loved it. LOVED it… but in the end, i thought it’d be too heavy for my destination wedding. but it does look amazing on you!

i knew i didn’t really want lace. it’s gorgeous, but not for me. i went with a very light fluffy galina signature from DB

I love this thread! I’m over here drooling over these plain dresses! Here is one I tried on and is my front runner so far. The belt was added.

j9marie:  I will bite!

Saw this on instagram and posted it onto something blush dress threads … it’s from the HP Blush and I guess she custom ordered it in blush … so gorgeous, right?

And there are some that I saw from instagram with the bride wearing a David’s bridal 2 piece dress … love!  So much better than the stock photos!

And because I have this on my phone and maybe it fits with being plain and non-lacey …. hehe probably not though since this is a cake and not a dress …. but it is cute!

UK-bee:  I love lace gowns, but I look genuinely aweful in them. I was also surprised how much I was drawn to plain satin gowns. I had this dress custom made (I was very inspired by Rosa Clara gowns! Love her!!) but I was worried it was *too* plain, too blah, and not enough umph.

Boy was I wrong to worry! On the wedding day, it looked chic and lovely! I am so glad I stuck with my gut!!

(Also – my DH’s family is from India so I wore loads of Indian jewelry! It didn’t look plain at all)

Love that Victor Harper dress!

I always thought I’d have lace or something beaded or sequinned and didn’t have high hopes when I tried this one on but I love it! It’s so elegant and flattering (a necessity for my post baby tummy in case I haven’t managed to lose it by November!) I’m going to get a long veil to go with it.

What a great thread! I didn’t know this existed when I went hunting for my dress a few weeks ago. I discovered I didn’t look good in soft floaty fabrics or lace. The silk and satin structured numbers were amazing.

This is my dress:
