Bees, I hope you can help me with this one. After having second thoughts with my first dress purchase, I bought another dress on a whim in a sample sale. Totally different from the first one, I got the Mikaella 1652.
As of yesterday, I was already planning to wear the Martina Liana as is, without the skirt cover :), during the ceremony and the reception program, and then change to the simpler Mikaella during the rest of the reception. Now, I just showed the second dress to my Mom, and she said it was exactly what she wanted for me! So… how do I do this? When do I wear which one? Do I switch them out or change to the Mikaella earlier?

I am still in love with your first dress 🙂 the second one is pretty though I am wondering if you just caved to mom. You should go with the one YOU love or maybe wear the one mom likes for the ceremony???

I saw that Martina Liana in person on a mannequin at a salon I shopped at, and although I didn’t try it on myself, it was fabulous. To be honest, I don’t think that second dress even holds a candle to the Martina. If that Martina was mine, I’d wear it for every second I could. But…..that’s me.
Just based on the styles of these dresses, I would say wear the Martina for the ceremony and reception until dancing is to start (if you’re having dancing) and then switch to the Mikaella for the ease of movement/mingling.

@SherylAA: I actually have both already. The first one, I really like it and since I’ve spent on it, I want to wear it. The second one though will make my mom happy. She’s not a fan of the first dress, so I figured wearing both would be a happy medium for us. What do you think?

@cdncinnamongirl: That was exactly what I was thinking of doing, before I showed my mom the second dress. When she said it was exactly what she wanted for me, plus a nice bolero/jacket, I started thinking about which one to wear when.
@bricon: Well, partly it was that and partly I was second guessing the first dress. So I went out and I didn’t expect it but I ended up getting the second one at a sample sale for $250. So you think it’s ok if I wear the second one during the ceremony only?

I love the first one and would wear it all night, but since you have two, I would wear the second one for the ceremony. I think for most parents the ceremony is the most important part and usually more serious than the reception. I think it would make your mom the happiest if you wore the second one for the ceremony (but I’m assuming. maybe you should see what she thinks). The first one is so fun and would fit well at the reception… and I would personally want to wear it for longer!

Which one do you see yourself being able to dance / move around in the most easily?

@ticatica: They’re both relatively easy to move around him. The first one takes more space but it’s not restrictive at all, and the second one is relatively light too. The second one looks more casual though, I guess.
