Maybe put together contact info for hotels so people who weren’t planning to stay have a place in case they need to… and advise people to build time into travel. Other than that I’m not sure… do you think there will be many people flying in the day of?

If you do decide to get extra umbrellas, they have plain ones at Dollar Tree right now.

I think it’s mostly going to be rain by then or are they still saying it might be a category 3 when it gets up there.  Heard here in NOVA we should be spared, which is nice given the earthquake today. LOL

I would make sure if you have a website to update it and to get the word out to make your guests aware of any situations that could arise.  Some are probably already working out their own plans.  I know I would.  Good luck this weekend!

If it’s not going to reach NY until Sun, I think most people (ie, the Sat arrivals) will probably make it in time. As long as they can get out of their airports and land, it’s all good.

I’m also getting married on Sunday, and Fruitloops I envy your ‘back up plan’ way of thinking. I already investigated postponing the entire wedding even though I have people starting to fly in tomorrow. i can’t believe this is happening to us. We get one shot at a wedding, and it’s considered to possibly the worst storm in decades. Where’s your wedding? Mine is in Woodbury, LI.

Good luck to all your Hurricane weddings! I think the best “survival” tip is to just have a sense of humor about it – no one will be forgetting your wedding!

Hopefully at least your caterer will give you some money back like mine did for not having as many people as planned and maybe you can take back some of your alcohol like we did bc we didnt open all of it. just dont open some when you have some thats half full. best of luck. also if people dont show up get married anyway all you really neeed is you, your fh, and your officiate.

Good luck with the Sunday weddings!  You CAN do it!  I had a friend get married during a tropical storm here in NJ about 3 years ago and they got married in a flimsy tent…had to put down plywood but it worked out in the end.
