I haven’t really planned a lot yet, but Fiance has been very resistant to talking about the wedding due to money. However, I have a feeling that when I pitch my idea about using San Diego Chargers colors, it will jump start him.

I’ll be interested to see responses to this.

There was a wedding from Ohana Photography (and Nely Photography as well) that had a Chargers groom’s cake, ring photos with helmet, and they had a dance-off as a competition for some game tickets….here’s the links…

I havent seen NFL yet but there are a TON of college football theme/planning arounds on here.  We couldnt avoid the wedding on a game day, so we sucked it up and are showing the wedding (projected on a screen) at the reception!  We’ll have Ohio State colored beads and buckeye necklaceds in the football room, etc.  Ours is tame, but I know there are a ton on here who can provide input.  There a few other threads, try a search of “college football” in the weddingbee search

I’m new to this board but was trying to search for anyone else who has tried to do a ‘semi classy’ NFL themed wedding.  We are aiming for Gillette Stadium venue with the team colors (but not blatent), if we could merge this with a game day that would be ideal.  I think the cake will be the easy part, and I’d like to do other subtle hints of the team in the decor.

Still searching for thoughts on the invitations and food…considering changing for reception or throwing a jersey on over the dress (weird?)

Thanks 🙂

I haven’t seen anyone here planning around the NFL, but like KellyV said, there are a bunch of people who are planning around college football. My husband and I surely did!

This is cute idea. Friends of ours were recently married in West Point and had to move her wedding date because of an Army football game.

The closest I have is that two of our groomsmen are high school football coaches, and we planned the wedding later in the year so that it did not conflict with their schedule. We got Thanksgiving Day weekend because they were getting a bunch of new freshmen and knew they would not be making playoffs.

But, I am planning (as a surprise for him) a Jets groom’s cake.
