anabolina :  we planned for a one year engagement but circumstances changed and we pushed the wedding up by two months giving us a 10 month engagement.

3 months! I don’t really enjoy planning and figured this would simplify things: either I can get it done in the 3 months alotted or it doesn’t get done at all. Got engaged in November and wedding is in February.

We had 18m engagement. Mostly because our venue had only 2 spots left for the following year (got engaged 2016, wanted to marry 2017), and we picked the september date.

My engagement will be 20 months total. Been engaged for a year but I didn’t start planning or set a date until after being engaged for 7 months. For the first 7 months I was just enjoying being engaged and didn’t feel like planning anything. But then once I hit the 7th month, I was ready to start the wedding planning process.

We were engaged for 18 months and it was perfect! Although I wouldn’t have wanted it any longer, but definitely not shorter than a year. We got engaged around Christmas 2015, and wanted a summer wedding but planning in 6 months for summer 2016 was way too short for us. So we planned for summer 2017 instead. I started planning straight away, had booked our venue/date within a month of getting engaged.

Being being engaged, we had talked about a long engagement. It was a mix of my fiance not really being ready and that was his “compromise” as I was ready to be engaged and also to save some money.

Now I’m engaged and we’ll be eloping 7 months from now. He told me that as soon as he decided to propose, he knew he was ready and that he didn’t mind if it was shorter engagement vs 1.5-2 years we had talked about.

My family is also in another country and I wanted to be able to have a “we eloped” party/reception with them. It just made sense to do it this summer while we were home visiting them vs trying to plan a seperate trip.

It’s not much to plan for us and it will all be $2000 max so it was easy to plan it all! I’ve done most of the past four days…maybe I’m a little too excited 😅

Got engaged in late May 2017 and getting married in early July 2018, so a little over a year. Time is flying, so I think this is a good length of time, though I probably could have planned everything with a shorter engagement as well.

We got engaged at the end of September 2016 and married October 21, 2017. So 13 months.
