We got engaged 7/2/17 and are getting married 6/24/18. So one week short of a year! We wanted a summer wedding and there were few open dates on the weekend for our venue so that’s how we choose our date. Also we did not want to wait two years for a summer wedding so one year seemed like the right choice for us. We got engaged on our 5 year anniversary so will be getting married after being together for 6 years!

anabolina :  I thought that we’d be engaged for a year after we talked about our timeline, then hubby proposed a lot sooner than I anticipated (over a year sooner) so I thought we’d have a 2 year engagement, and then we had the opportunity to have our wedding paid for and took it, so we were only engaged for 6 months.

We planned on having a 3 year engagement so I could go to grad school and then have a year afterwards to plan the wedding, but we got antsy so our engagement lasted a year and 4 months (picked a venue and planned it in 9 months)
