My Fiance and I are easy going people

He got the ring on a Monday. Took it to be appraised so he could get the paperwork for the insurance company.

On Friday he had dinner reservations at a place I’d wanted to go to for a while. (He told me he was able to get them “last minute” because it was a holiday weekend and everyone leaves the city on holiday weekends, but he’d had these reservations for over a week).

At dinner we had a bottle of wine from a vineyard we visited in France.

On the walk home, he stopped in one of the parks, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.

Very simple, but very thoughtful at the same time.

When we got home, there was a bottle of my favorite champagne in the fridge. He’d snuck it in there when he came home from work to pick me up for dinner.

He said he’d been trying to plan it for a while, but instead thought he would wait for the perfect time to occur of its own accord… and it did! πŸ™‚

We’ve been together now 7 years…and we are simple and sweet, so how he proposed was perfectly simple and sweet!

My husband proposed about an hour after he made up his mind to.  I absolutely loved his proposal, but it wasn’t planned at all!  πŸ™‚

I have no idea what his plans were, haha. But he did propose two days after he got the ring, so I imagine he wasn’t worrying about a complex proposal!

My guy had the ring for about 3 weeks waiting for a special/ romantic moment. He ended up doing it after a casual dinner out. I was watching TV and expected nothing. It was very us. I’m not a fancy, elaborate emabass me in a public spectacle type of girl. So I’m glad it wasn’t something elaborate.

My story is a little different, while he actually DID propose (it was at home) he told me from day #1 he wanted to marry me & told me every day after that until he actually proposed.  I guess I had heard it so many times that the day he actually busted out a ring, I was a little surprised, but not really.  He tried to get me to go out to a restaurant, but I was cranky lol, so he ended up doing it at home.

my hubby had the ring for awhile but couldn’t decide how to propose. then one night when we were driving home from a dinner/movie date, it was still early so i suggested playing scrabble when we got home. the idea flashed on him right then and there that he’d spell out “marry me” on the board to ask me, and that’s what he did. so it was pretty simple and a quick-decison plan. and totally perfect for us πŸ™‚ i actually already knew it was coming, but he totally surprised me, since i had figured it would have happened earlier in date night, not after we got home and changed into pjs πŸ˜‰

I haven’t a clue what he actually planned but I know it wasn’t elaborate. He proposed on the night of our 2nd year dating anniversary. We were leaving his parents house for him to take me home and before I got into the car he came around to my side, got down on his knee (in the snow) and asked me to marry him. I said yes we hugged and kissed then he took me home and I got to sit in my room alone for the rest of the night… so if he planned it all out… wow haha. but the main thing is is that we are engaged and going to get married =)

I said he planned something simple and did something simple. We were headed to Mexico for a week for my birthday and the extent of his “plan” was to propose when we were there. He kind of figured he’d just wing it once we got there and wait for the right moment. Once we got there though he decided he just couldn’t wait any longer so he did it the very first night on the beach. πŸ™‚

Proposal was simple and lovely, but it was very well planned – he’d ordered the ring and brought it out on holiday with us, somehow keeping me completely unaware for 10 days πŸ™‚

I chose “He planned something elaborate, but did something simple” because I know he had planned on doing something elaborate but he ended up proposing at home in his basketball shorts, no shirt, probably before he even brushed his teeth on a Sunday morning while drinking coffee, lol.

It had been months since we talked about getting engaged and he constanty brought it up but NEVER proposed! I was getting so frustrated and felt that he was teasing me… The night before, we went out to a nice dinner and to Sleepy Hollow’s Pumpkin Blaze for Halloween, I thought for sure he was going to do it but nothing… πŸ™ So Sunday morning we were drinking coffee and he asked if I wanted to go take a stroll on the waterfront, I told him no, only because I was super irritated about him not proposing the night before and just wanted to be lazy… I told him that I felt he had been dangling our engagement over my head for months and that I was starting to really be hurt by it. Five minutes later he came out of his office and got down on one knee with a beautiful ring asking me to marry him, stinky breathe and all πŸ™‚

My husband coded an iPhone app that took me on a puzzle-solving scavenger hunt all over our “first” locations in Boston (first date, first kiss, etc) and ended with him recreating the place where we first said “I love you”. It was freaking awesome.

Fiance (as of 2 days ago!) knew I wanted a really fun and really special proposal. So he arranged to have someone take pictures with an ultra zoom camera from the bushes of the actual proposal, arranged special plans with a restaurant and then arranged for a catered surprise engagement party right after the proposal in which he had my parents fly in for. He lucked out in many areas that may have blown the cover: the weather was perfect 75 degrees and sunny by the beach (in January), I never saw the photographer, my parents never gave away any signs they were about to see me, etc
