I’m one of the BMs and the Maid/Matron of Honor and I are starting to plan a bridal shower. The Maid/Matron of Honor and I are sisters so this is our first time planning. Do we have to let the bride know what we are doing or are we suppose to involve her in the process? We know of alot of different things she would like because of statements she has said but needing some advice on this.

@dessilove: It’s perfectly fine to ask the bride for input about what kind of shower she would like! Some brides are picky about where and when their shower is and what kind of decor would be involved. Plus you’ll probably need her to give you a list of names for the guests!

Traditionally, I believe the bride isn’t supposed to be involved. It is supposed to be a surprise. Nowadays, the bride can be involved. I planned one for my cousin recently and she insisted on knowing what we were doing, when it was and where it was. I think it is up to the discretion of the bride. Personally, I do not want to know, i want it to be a surprise!!
