I’m pretty sure I want to take a Hawaiian cruise for our honeymoon. We’ve looked them up and it seems that our ‘usual’ cruise line only goes to Hawaii in September or January.
Fiance doesn’t have much vacation time this year, but will have four weeks next January.
We still haven’t finalized a date for the wedding, but we were hoping for this fall. A few days ago, I tossed out the idea of waiting till January, so he had more time off and could enjoy the wedding more if he wasn’t heading right back to work. The fact that the cruise would be in January as well kinda makes it even better.
We are still considering getting married in the fall, but honeymooning in January. I’m afraid the shiny newness will have worn off by then though and it will just be another vacation. On the other hand, it seems silly to plan a whole wedding around a honeymoon.

I want to go to Florida for our honeymoon and we’ve decided to get married in September so the weather is just right then! I couldn’t imagine doing anything but heading off on our honeymoon the day after the wedding… for me it’s all part of the excitement.
My friends got married in October last year and went on their honeymoon in January… unfortunately they referred to it as a ‘holiday’ the entire time!
Personally I just couldn’t wait that long. I don’t think it’s silly to plan the wedding around the honeymoon, as I see the honeymoon as a week/2 week extension of the wedding and without it the wedding would be just one day and then back to normality the day after 🙁

We did this. We’re going to Mauritius and although it’s a tropical island there are obviously wet and dry seasons. We’re going right in the middle of their spring/our fall so the weather should be perfect.
It’s a bonus that we wanted a September wedding so it all works out well.
What abou a January wedding? You would have more time to plan & lower costs since it’s off season.
